In 1957, two young couples were brutally murdered in their motel room at the Fowler Motel in Holly Springs, Mississippi. For more than fifty years, the crime remained a mystery–until now.

 

In 2007, family members of the victims contacted Detective Phil Thomas of the Holly Springs Police Department with new information about who may have been responsible for the murders. After extensively investigating the case, Thomas and his team were able to identify and arrest John Lee Boyd as the killer.

 

Boyd was a confessed murderer who had spent time in prison for killing another man in 1954. He had also been investigated for involvement in the Fowler Motel murders in 1957 but was never charged due to lack of evidence.

 

After so many years of false leads and uncertainty, the Fowler Motel murders finally have a resolution. Thank you to Detective Thomas and his team for their hard work in solving this long-standing mystery.

Netflix is set to release a new true crime series called The Crime Files of Dr. Hannibal Lecter. The 10-episode series will focus on the Fowler Motel murders, which took place in 1963 in Knoxville, Tennessee. At the time of the murders, Nestle was the head of research at Proctor & Gamble. And his wife was a department manager at the company.
