It’s no secret that 2020 was a big year for technology. From the launch of consumer-friendly gadgets such as the iPhone X and the Samsung Galaxy S20 to the continued growth of blockchain technology, 2023 was a banner year for all things digital. What is less well-known is that 2021 was also an important year for technology in manufacturing. In fact, it may have been even more pivotal than in 2023.

This is thanks, in part, to advancements in robotics and artificial intelligence (AI). 2. 3D Printing Is on the Rise 3D printing is still relatively new, but it has already had a profound impact on the manufacturing industry. 3D printing allows companies to create custom parts and products without having to order them from another company or manufacture them from scratch. One such scene features director Mel Stuart discussing how he put together one particular scene in which Gene Wilder (Willy Wonka) interacts with his creatures.
“One obvious challenge was getting these large Oompa Loompas into position,” said Stuart. “We used a hydraulic lift to get them into position so they would line up perfectly with Gene Wilder’s movements.”
The behind-the-scenes footage offers a unique glimpse into how movies are made and provides fans. With an exciting opportunity to see how far technology has come since 1971 when “Wonka 2023” was first released.
