Who owns the Space Coast?

Steven Oktela – Owner – Space Coast Harley-Davidson | LinkedIn.

I’m talking about. That’s just one of the perks of living on Florida’s Space Coast Daily.

There is hardly a person in the United States, and very few in the world, who does not have at least some knowledge of the Space Coast and where the “missiles” are launched from. As a child growing up in Brevard County, it was a great privilege to be able to walk out into our backyard and watch the launch of the rockets that would take humans to the moon and eventually the launch of the space shuttles that would carry astronauts to the International Space Station. Not too many people in the world see that.

In addition to rocket launches, the Space Coast has benefits that are attractive to the more than 500,000 people who live in Brevard County. The beaches are the main attraction for many people as sun worshipers and surfers descend on the ocean every March. Some of the most famous beaches are Sebastian Inlet Beach, Indialantic Beach and of course Cocoa Beach, home of the late 1960s hit TV show I Dream Of Jeannie.

The Space Coast is also a great place to retire for seniors as the Melbourne and Palm Bay areas were voted the 4th best place to retire in the country a few years ago. Many senior living communities dot Brevard County, and the medical community offers a wide variety of advanced services for retired citizens. The Space Coast is a great place to spend your golden years.

One of the most obvious benefits of living on the Space Coast is the weather. Florida is not called the Sunshine State for nothing. With over 300 days of sunshine each year in Florida. The weather is perfect for enjoying a variety of outdoor activities on the Space Coast. Boating is a major outdoor recreation activity in Brevard County. With the Indian River. Lake Washington, the St. Along the Johns River and other waterways. Boaters can enjoy such activities as water skiing, fishing, air sailing, canoeing and more. Channel 54 on the Brevard County line. Indian River County is a popular area for water skiers and ski clubs. Channel 54 hosted ski tournaments at the professional level.

Life on the Space Coast develops at a leisurely pace without the business, traffic, congestion and crime of a big city. All of the towns in Brevard County still have a small-town feel while still having access to big-city amenities. Major music and entertainment acts can be found in concert at The King Center on the campus of Brevard Community College in North Melbourne. And Major League Baseball’s Milwaukee Brewers call Space Coast Stadium home for spring training. The Brevard County Manatees wrap up the rest of the baseball season for sports fans in Brevard.

For added entertainment and culture. The Space Coast is conveniently located so that Orlando and all that comes with it is only a 1 hour to 45 minute drive from anywhere in Brevard County.

With so much to enjoy and access to many activities. Recreation, beautiful weather and more. Florida’s Space Coast is one of the best places to live in the country. If you ever have the opportunity to see a space shuttle launch. And spend time in any of Brevard County’s many picturesque communities, you’ll be mesmerized. And may want to call the Space Coast home.
